METRO UI, CLOUD SYNC, etc. so how is this different than Windows?

We are inspired from Windows so we are using metro style on Flux. This OS actually is partly Windows, Partly Mac - The other half is pure Flux. Windows is an innovation for us - But we don't copy them.

We had enough of tablets from Windows 8 so now it's time for a modern UI for PC.

We work on compatibility so that you people can customize it the way you want. Flux will although be better than Windows XP in the graphics and capability.

Our OS will have some of these basic features :

- Combine the best ideas from Mac and Windows philosophy fitted to our real pc needs not to tablets needs.
- Fluid Social OS with emphasizing on your social sites and any other connections. Not just tiles but every part of the OS will be totally connected on the cloud including a way much better "explorer"
- This OS wont load on a Start UI but on "desktop" and perhaps we ll bring back the start orb and an improved start menu
- We allow full customizations on any part of the OS. Everything can be customized including the apps that come with the OS e.g Adair Browser! Themes will be available too
- Better text editor than Notepad on every aspect including a much more amazing user interface and usability. You can check out the screenshots of NoteEm'(Now merged with Patro) for more info.
- Better designing program than Paint
- Better media player with lots of our ideas in it
- Tools & Tutorials for Developers
- Cloud sync and apps based on our ideas too, not just Windows apps
- Better Browser than IE with better HTML5 renderings, faster download manager and lots of other things
- Better graphics & games
- Security and PC Safety
- Compatibility
- Cheaper OS (We ll give out 2 versions > the Home which will be Free and the Pro which will come with the full features)
- Surprises

Other information will be given on the FLUX BLOG that is soon going to be released and also on the facebook page on which you are tuned too. Thank you once again. - The Flux Team.

Thanks for the reply!

If if essentially uses the windows layout (desktop, start orb, start menu) could Microsoft say its copying and stop us from using it?

This Flux OS certainly looks intriguing, I'll be watching for more information. I will be looking forward to see how it does app switching, notifications and so on.

Anytime man!

Well look, actually we cannot be exactly the same. The OS will have smart and positive characteristics that are so obvious and proved all these years that worth it - even through 3rd party ideas and not only Microsoft's or Apple's. Windows programs will be executable, games also will work properly and we ll offer extra apps of course (Flux apps). We'll even offer "Office" apps for covering user's needs but we won't support (.docx .doc .xls .xlsx) files.

We just finished the booting and the log-in screen and started working on the "desktop" and apps. I don't know yet how the overall result will be but we'll try to bring back the start orb and menu and keep the desktop (that Microsoft probably will remove on the future) adding our ideas and style so no one will have a problem for using it.

We'll combine and add our ideas to achieve at least something good..trust me - we have many ideas on the line that even Windows or Mac do not use due to marketing politics or any other reasons. Ideas are so many, same for our potentials - so we make our try.

I'd appreciate if you have any ideas to propose, if you want something specific to see on this OS, to let me know so i could see it more seriously. I even don't know if you have any talents to offer..

Obviously we are working on some ideas including multitasking, socializing, syncing and such stuff that we think people will appreciate and will use. We'll try to cover coming technologies and ideas that all these King companies are working already.

This is a big thing and its a hard thing to make an OS but we work on it every day. As team increases obviously we ll offer better results and faster. We expect on 2015 [link] to forward this OS on the Market but first versions (preview versions) will start to come out soon as we promised. People will start to use it and experiment with is so we could take the feedback and see how we can improve.

We hope we'll achieve this or whatever comes to our head :)

I'm not sure if I'm gonna install this when it's gonna be released, because I'm pretty scared of installing these big stuff.

I'm already scared of patching my system files to use themes.

BTW, I only have 4GB left in my C:\ Drive and all my files are in my D:\ Drive... :(

I understand your fear so i cannot push you to install it Tim :D but to be honest there is no reason to afraid it buddy..the system will work "fluently" and you will notice it as others will use it, just in case you want to be more sure!! Patching your system for themes is easy and if done correctly each time you install/uninstall a theme everything works smoothly and as it has to work..Flux will have its own theme engine and will allow customization without the need of extra patches or something else..developers will have the tools to make themes, plugins etc. for this OS without other needs!!

you should't use magenta for text at the top. It doesn't look good and it's hard-to-reading (with this background). Don't you think?

Thanks my friend!! There is a lot of heavy development but we have in mind some things we want to achieve with this OS (like giving tools to developers, cloud etc.) so we really put a lot of effort on it..it needs a ton of work to become a standalone OS but we ll improve it by the time..We started it as 2 people but we are planning to increase the team and become a bigger family..we toke some emails, we saw a great interest and response so now we ll see how we ll proceed..we connected also Flux Corp with Adair Inc. (the other company we own that we develop there with the rest team >> Adair Browser, AFM Download Manager, Patro Notepad and plenty of other apps that will show up perhaps with the Flux OS (including noteem' and many others)..cool things are happening my friend :)

Wow buddy..im impressed!! There is some serious work in there..i really like the xml and text editor, same for the other apps too but its interesting to see all this..im now using MobiText and it works like a charm..i saw that that each time i type a link it gets blue with underline decoration and a hand appears to click it..i supposed there it will load my browser after clicking it but it didnt worked..it seems that i cant find also a hyperlink tool so perhaps its missing or i missed it somewhere..eventhough this work deserves respect!! Well done man, i enjoyed it!! Are you working on other things too like developing new apps for windows 7 or 8 (e.g metro)?

Sorry about the MobiText error. That is actually a bug we are fixing in the next release (which will be extremely awesome, I have to finish up all the help files for a release next week). The XML editor is also on the line for a new update, and it will get one! Glad you enjoyed it all. I wanted to make apps that could go up for the Windows 8 Store, but I ran into a problem, I have to attend some "Clinic" to test out apps or something and I don't have one of these clinics near by. So, for now I am just going to stick to VB2010 stuff, and some classic apps here and there for 2000. I had plans for my XiNE name, and that was to make a real Linux kernel OS. I have tried VB OSs (and one person even submitted me his OS made in a PowerPoint, lol) and always dreamed to get more functionality than something sitting atop Windows. Maybe in a few years or something, I mean, I'm only a Sophomore. Just my 2 cents!

It's ok buddy i completely understand the procedure..the point that counts though is the effort and the ideas..programs always accept improvements and here we ll be to to improve them..i wanted to make win8 apps too but microsoft with all these limits and obstacles actually it doesnt help the common people to innovate. Clinic? But i thought microsoft verifies you online without the need of a store to check your validity..for windows phone devs lets say approves them using team viewer..also we must not stick to classic apps buddy..world changes with speed of light..we must be "in the things" to survive..i suppose you know dotnetbar..use it lets say and make metro apps for windows 7..you dont see so many metro developments around..
