Really good, I hope microsoft use something that follows metro for all their future websites. Hey do you mind if a post a concept I done using yours on my deviantart page, I will give full credit to you?
Thx my friend, i hope this too!! No buddy there is no problem at all, feel free to work with it as you want!! Actually you can use whatever you need !! It's good to see other variations too, this makes me happy!! Good luck!! Just give me a link to check your concept, i ll look forward to it
thx mate!! well for metro i suggest first of all metro based fonts..all the families..segoi ui, segoi wp,zetro ui, helvetica, droid sans etc..also have in mind your design to have a meaning, to say something that others can understand..lets say on your concept i liked the background but on my honest opinion you could add something better that will fit with microsoft's cause, history, purpose etc..that background fits better on a nice fairytale paper or anything else..you could add for microsoft their logo or something that attracts the eye..of course this is my personal opinion..you could use the same background but edit it so it remembers more microsoft.. play with tools and try to keep these forms when you design firms that are well known to public..this is the trick to attract people who know those firms or else maybe will confuse..also try to work a lot your designs..dont be in a hurry to submit or show something good..be patient and emphasize on this..work it again and again so u ll find the best solution for it..and after u see peoples response you ll learn the way by time you have nothing to fear since you re interested in this things try to present your works on a way people will like lets say avoid big texts for you as author, dont stretch images and generally work also your previews!! maybe the work isnt so difficult to be done but if u work the preview or the whole concept and you show it on a smart way people respect this trust me There are many things to have in mind im sure u ll understand them on your own..just have as a first rule to say more with yr designs and less with yr descriptions!!
I downloaded the Consumer Preview last night. It takes a looong time to install,of course I DID load it on my P.C.This version is definitely geared towards touchscreen devices.I haven't really tried it out yet,but I'm sure I will stick to Windows 7 on my P.C.
Yeah thats truth buddy windows 7 maybe its better on that field. One real good thing about windows 8 is the difference on speeds but many other things like that metroui combinations maybe are wrong for desktop users..or at least make the system load on desktop..if someone wants metro apps then its better to find them through a shortcut not on startup!! and definitely i want my start orb and start menu back!
Yeah...if I had a tablet...I would definitely want Windows 8 on it.It would be a great touch screen application for sure.It is fast but a lot of features are hard to find now on my desktop.I should have researched better on forums etc.I'm usually more informed and thorough before I install something on my machine.Oh well,it WILL expire eventually and if it doesn't,I see a clean install coming up of Windows 7.Ugghh!
I like what you did with the beta fish background however the website resembling the start screen is a bit of a no-no....The website should present information at a glance...Not just presenting links to other parts of the ms website. this is just my opinion though.
thx bro !! no-no?well these are personal tastes! i don't think its so hard to slide the tiles though to the specific category and find what you want. Microsoft made this for their windows OS thinking that is easy to categorize and slide through apps. Why not on their website too? if its more preferable and easier to find things having all those infos at one page, why they made their next OS like this? i prefer it then to load on desktop not on metro ui because this is where all infos can be accessed at a glance! if sliding through categories takes up time that people can't accept, then their OS will be a total failure! Personally if i'm looking for something seriously i show some "patience" and im trying to understand the overal built of the page..where are the main categories etc. so i will click on a category i need..not clicking and going back all the time..All the things on one page remembers me little of this little of that..and of course as their site is now i can't find what i want..with sliding tiles you can slide through all the categories as startui works, find what you want and click on it..if you make this 3,4 times im pretty sure you will learn most of the categories they are using so you will know where to slide and find your category at next visit..you ll learn the page lets say page 4 is for windows page 5 for microsoft office and this is how my idea was..as ive said these are personal tastes !!
